Extreme Weather Shipping Policy

Extreme temperatures can sabotage a wine’s quality quicker than almost anything else. That’s why we leave as little as possible to chance, and take every precaution to ensure your bottles arrive in perfect condition. Here’s everything you need to know about how we ship.

Delivery Date

You can decide when and how you want your wine delivered. At checkout, you can specify your delivery date so you can be home to sign for your wine. For wine club shipments, we make sure to give you a little time after we place your order to choose a date that works for you. Please do your best to choose a time when you’ll be home—the less time your wine spends in transit, the better. 


By default, your wine will ship in cardboard packaging. If the weather is extreme and you stick with this option, you might want to schedule your delivery for a time when temperatures are milder, like autumn or spring. 

TemPerfect Eco Packaging

You can upgrade to our TemPerfect eco packaging for just $10 per shipment (complimentary on orders $300+). This insulated packaging ships with an ice pack and is recyclable once you peel away the silver lining. Please note: TemPerfect eco packaging is not available for all locations with standard ground shipping.

If you do opt for TemPerfect eco packaging but it ends up not being necessary, we’ll credit the charge back to your Wine Access account after your order ships. 

Ship When the Weather Is Safest

We have developed software to look at temperatures along all delivery routes, and we are constantly monitoring the weather to make sure your wine stays safe. When you select the “Ship when the weather is safest” option, we’ll notify you if we suggest moving your selected delivery date. If you don’t choose this option, your wine will ship regardless of temperature.
