July on the Wine Trail

The wine comes in. We head out.

That’s been the theme of our summer season: Just as we were basking in the excitement of our latest offer—a superb slate of hand-picked imports we brought back from our spring trip to France—our Head of Wine Vanessa Conlin and VP of Wine Robert Emery headed back to Europe for another scouting trip.

Their mission is to bring more under-the-radar, top-quality wines from Europe to your front door, and no European heatwave, power outage, or lost luggage could stop them. Through it all, they’ve been working their way north from Avignon, tasting through Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the Southern Rhône before heading to Bordeaux. At Wine Access-favorite estate Gros Noré, the pair even met two of Wine Access members on their own tour of the sun-soaked region. Other top visits included stops at La Vieux Télégraphe, Château de Beaucastel, and more—and you know what visits mean, so keep your eyes peeled for upcoming allocations of these iconic reds.

Back home our stateside Wine Team is on a similar mission, moving between Napa icons, Oregon upstarts, and everything in between. Suffice it to say, we’re not on summer vacation.

Just last week, we had the opportunity to say hello to a slew of our favorite winemakers at the Sixth Annual WineaPAWlooza, an auction benefiting the Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch, a no-kill animal rescue sanctuary and shelter in Napa Valley. Head of Wine Vanessa Conlin, an animal lover herself, is board president of this fantastic cause, which attracts some of the most absurdly talented and kindhearted vintners in Napa Valley: Maayan Koschitzky, Philippe Melka, Andy Beckstoffer, Julien Fayard, and Helen Keplinger among them. Surrounded by Napa’s finest, the Wine Access team was honored stand shoulder to should with producers we admire in support of Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch’s mission to foster harmony between humans, animals, and the environment.

We’ve also recently expanded what we’re able to offer to our members from coast to coast, so there’s never been a better time shop on Wine Access. Our store is expanding rapidly to include more iconic bottles, and unique wines from upstart labels. Now just might be the best time to refer a friend to Wine Access. It’s the best and easiest deal going: When your friend makes their first purchase of $150, they get $50 off the order, and you get a $50 credit. Simple as that. Refer as many people as you want.

Finally, we’re rolling out a new email template, so keep an eye out. It’s a brand-new look that will feature the same great stories, deliver the same incredible values, and include a few visual elements that we think will make it easier for you to discover wines that suit you perfectly.

We hope you’re enjoying your summer!
